The construction of a good web page not only depends on great optimisation and content - visually the page or pages must look aesthetically pleasing and have intuitive navigation. The similarity between printed magazine design and layout, with web design is very obvious.

The printed word, the newspaper and magazine might be an endangered spices but we still owe a lot to their process of displaying content in a pleasing and informative way.

Rediscovering the printing process after nearly 40 years has been an interesting process – disappointingly modern inks are not as rich in colour (earthy colours are very plastic like) and modern waterbased inks don’t become part of the surface, they sit on it, which is incredibly frustrating – the reason I took up printing in the first place was because of the absorbed flatness of the pigments.
